‘Ohana Festival is a music festival that occurs in Dana Point, CA at Doheny State Beach. Eddie Vedder began this festival in 2016 and it has only grown since. The festival features a variety of music genres, storytelling, and a variety of activities. ‘Ohana Festival’s mission is to connect people through a shared love of music in order to create a sense of community and a feeling of belonging. They emphasize this through the activities that occur aside from performances, the intimate environment, and the overall event setting. This is how ‘Ohana Festival celebrates the surf culture, the music industry, and creates an inviting community at a one-of-a-kind location.

This fictional project was evolving the current brand identity and developing it into something that fits the brand’s mission in a more accurate lens. Through this project, research of the Polynesian culture was taken into consideration to better understand what ‘Ohana means and what it truly entails. In the Polynesian culture, ‘Ohana means connections, relationships, and a sense of community. This is the energy and feeling the festival aims to evoke.
